As my bus rolled into Reykjavik

Spent the night in a hot dog stand in Copenhagen Airport
It wasn't very comfortable
My plane seemed like a time machine
all red up in the sky
Hot springs burst into the air
boiling water and smoke from the ground
Ice and fire and that brimstone smell from the shower
made you seem like hell
But it's a hell that I liked

Earthquake shake the ground
down by the river where they used to drown witches
Nothing's really growing here and you can't light a smoke
because the moss can explode
I see monsters in the night, I see men
I see very far into the distance
I ate marmalade and french toast
at my hotel that morning
Up the hill from the coast
